We stayed at Heron Lodge....................we are a family with small children.........had a great time and visited the Camera Obscure Museum in Dumfries a great day out for the children.............also Mabie Farm Park just a short distance from Heron Lodge.

Heron Lodge............we used as a base to go mountain biking .........great routes at Mabie forest Green easy to Black for the toughest...........also plently more places at Dalbeattie and surrounding area

Thank you for allowing us to stay at Heron Lodge this summer, the weather was fantastic and had a couple of BBQ meals outside, it was lovely and peaceful watching the sun go down accompanied with a glass or two of red wine.......we has a great relaxing holiday week .......and would reccommend to our friends to come and stay here. Heron Lodge was found very well presented with a well equipped kitchen for a great self catering holiday........you don't need to being anything other than your own personal things.........we walked in to find the place clean and well presented.......great views also .......and a great base to explore the Robert Burns Trail and a great day out to Gretna Green Outlet Shopping Village......Mrs J Smith August 2009

Heron Lodge provided us with everything we needed for our holiday break............the only thing they did not provide us with was a toothbrush !!! I would give the accommodation 9 out of 10 as no place can be perfect !! Stayed July 2010 Edward Boggis.

I came over on a tour of England and Scotland from the Netherlands........Found Heron lodge on the internet and found the Owner very friendly and always responded promptly to my emails. Delaforce- NSW Australia, Stayed at Heron Lodge February and March 2011 to enable us to visit relatives in the Dumfries Area. We found Louise very helpful and welcoming from the beginning of booking through the entire stay at Heron Lodge. We found the lodge very well equipped and clean a great home from home place to stay during our entire visit.We would highly reccommend a stay at Heron Lodge to anyone wishing to embrace the lovely area of Dumfires and Galloway.
